27th International Coastal Clean-up Day

Lapu-lapu City in cooperation with the Coastal Conservation and Education Foundation, Inc. and other green-minded groups in the City will participate in the 27th International Coastal Clean-up Celebration on September 15, 2012 with the theme: "Trash Free Seas". Opening program starts at 6:00 in the morning at the Mactan Shrine, Brgy. Mactan, Lapu-lapu City.
Data collected from last year's coastal cleanup tells us that the following are the most common types of trash found in our seas.
- bags (plastic)
- food wrappers/containers
- styrofoam
- cigarette/cigarette filters
- clothing/shoes
- straws/stirrers
- plastic sheating/tarps
- beverage bottles (glass)
- beverage bottles (plastic)
- caps/lids.
